I Wrote Four Books. Here Is Why They Belong in the Same Room.

Published On: July 20, 2026|

Nobody handed me a map.

Twenty years of teaching. Thousands of students. Hundreds of families navigating a college process that was never designed to explain itself. I watched students with genuine ability stall—not because they were not ready, but because the system did not hand them what they needed to move through it with confidence.

So I built the maps myself. Four of them.

Teaching Beyond the Classroom. Educate, Encourage, Empower. Queen Moves. Crowned with Purpose.

Each book was an answer to something I lived through. Each one was built for a different audience. And each one is rooted in the same conviction: that every person who walks into a classroom, a college application portal, or a future they cannot fully see yet deserves a real framework—not just encouragement.

Teaching Beyond the Classroom

This book was built for the educators first. For the teachers who already know something is wrong with how African American students are being served and are looking for a method, not just a mindset. The CARDS Method™ was the answer: a structured, practical framework for the educator who is ready to move from intention to impact.

Educate, Encourage, Empower

This one started with a phone call from my son. He was struggling in technical school. My daughter was in college. I built each of them completely different sets of materials—because they are completely different learners. When her friends wanted copies, I understood what I had. The PARADIGM™ Strategy: personalized academic success tools built for how a student actually learns, not how a system assumes they do.

Queen Moves

My daughters were in the fourth grade when they came with me to a college readiness program and watched young adults walk across a room holding acceptance letters. Something ignited. We built from that moment—campus visits, applications, scholarship research—and I documented every step. Queen Moves is the roadmap that emerged. For young women who deserve more than access to college. They deserve the confidence and clarity to lead their own journey. The FAR Framework™ for young women: Flow, Alignment, Rhythm.

Crowned with Purpose

This book came from watching a system push out the very young men it was charged with developing. I was not willing to wait for a transformation that might never come. So I built a pathway. Grounded in discipline, precision, and integrity. The FAR Framework™ for young men: Focus, Accountability, Routine.

Why They Belong in the Same Room

These four books have never been in the same room at the same time. And they should be—because the educator and the student are not separate conversations. The parent walking alongside a college-bound daughter and the counselor advocating for a young man who keeps getting pushed out are not in different worlds. They are in the same school, often in the same hallway, always in the same system.

On August 13, I am bringing all four books into one room for the first time. One evening. One conversation. The complete picture of what Wellness and Equity look like in practice—in the classroom, in academic preparation, and in college readiness.
