Day 76. The Final Week of The Unweaving. The Arc Complete.
Dr. Shanelle R. Dawson · W.E.B. with Dr. Shanelle · DrShanelle.com
Seventy-six days ago I committed to a 90-day public transformation.
I called it The Unweaving because that was what it required — the deliberate, patient process of pulling apart what was not mine, setting down what I had been carrying, and returning to the woman who had been waiting underneath all of it. Recognition first. Then reclamation. Then restoration. Three movements. And the fourth — the one I did not fully anticipate — was this: the full life.
Not a perfect life. Not a resolved life. Not a life where every question has been answered and every ambition has been realized. A full one. A life where the personal and the professional are finally pointing in the same direction. Where what I do every day reflects who I actually am. Where the people arriving in this season are meeting the real version of me — not the managed one, not the performing one.
Peace. Joy. Love. The Full Life.
Four weeks. Four themes. And what I want to say about the arc — now that I am standing at the end of it — is that none of these things arrived the way I expected them to.
Peace did not feel like relief. It felt like alignment — the specific, embodied sense that the life I was living matched the person I had become.
Joy did not feel like happiness. It felt like evidence — evidence that the reclamation was working, that something real had been produced by the work.
Love did not feel like romance. It felt like wholeness — the experience of showing up as myself, fully, and finding that the connections built from that place were different from every connection built from performance.
And the full life does not feel like arrival. It feels like presence. Like being here — in this specific season, with this specific clarity, building this specific body of work — without waiting for something else to happen first.
What the 90 Days Produced
The W.E.B. body of work is the clearest and most organized it has ever been. Three books. Three pillars. Three distinct audiences. W.E.B. of Wisdom as the foundational transformation text. The Return Before the Ready as the reflective memoir that positions women to go back and find themselves. Before It Follows You as the safeguard that reaches young women before they ever need the memoir.
The faculty applications are moving. The consulting pipeline is active. The WISE application is in. The letters to OCC and SUNY Poly have been sent. The speaking and consulting work is building.
And next — beginning October 1 — the 100 Days of Alignment. Building the life that was always meant to be mine. 🕸️
